Oops. I hadn’t realized I hadn’t posted in so long. Poor neglected blog o’ purple. Let’s see – last time I was here was over Thanksgiving. Since then, I’ve completed two final projects including a systems analysis project on redesigning a website…completed the final phase of the RFID conversion project for CDs at my old library, quit that job, and started a brand spanking new one. Mmm…RL. Let’s see. Not IRL – I made it to Grand Master Farmer on my little level 7 alt on Lord of the Rings Online (which just sounds like a really big accomplishment, but is in fact, rather trivial), made almost 2g with my main - I suppose I would have made more money if I wasn’t so obsessed with crafting on all three of my characters…I blame SWG…oh sweet SWG, I truly miss that game. More on that some time later. Much later, at the rate I’m going. And…let’s see, World of Warcraft accomplishments – oh yes, I fished up a Mr. Pinchy with Springroll at a mere level of Fishing 316 – which is totally hilarious. Springroll’s healing is a bit over 1700 unbuffed, and Miriella has racked up over 100 badges of justice, and I think has almost enough gear for her to be ready to tank Krosh in Gruul’s Lair. Somehow I’ve been managing to sneak in a bunch of Kara runs on both my characters and racking up some serious goods. I did Gruul’s also and the very beautiful Bloodmaw Magus Blade that I’ve been dying for dropped, and through a series of screwed up rolls and confusion, I wound up with it. Huzzah! I’ve run ZA only once with Miriella and once with Springroll, but I’m not really enamored with it. One, it reminds me of ZG and it’s bloody confusing. I can navigate my way through all of Connecticut without a map but I can’t figure out where the exit for ZA is. Whatever. Two, I haven’t seen a single cloth drop yet.
It’s been a very busy, exciting month for me - most importantly I’ve survived my first week at my new job. Full-time Webmaster! What more can I ask for? It’s been an exciting adventure; I’m working with an AMAZING group of passionate, dedicated people who are totally with it – plus I’m thoroughly learning/enjoying as much as I can with my-not-boss-but-sort-of-is-Kate Sheehan, oh goddess of techie and library stuff, in the precious few months I have with her. She rocks but she sucks for leaving me for uber-Darien in March.
This weekend I plan on doing nothing but sleeping, WoWing, and wrapping up the few presents I managed to scrounge up. Happy Purple Christmas all!
Yes, I own a purple tree. It’s pretty and shiny and sparkly but currently lives in the trunk of my car. Next year I’ll put it up in Danbury.
